Dermatoscopy in Prague – Digital Mole Inspection

Dermatoscopy is a specialized diagnostic procedure which gives a comprehensive evaluation of the skin.

The procedure

This procedure is performed using a dermatoscope – an instrument that allows you to see the examined area under magnification more than ten times greater than the actual size, and thus assess not only the state of the skin, but also the structure and other features of the lesion. The examined area can also be photographed and saved digitally, thus allowing a comparison of the same area at the next appointment.

Previously, getting this kind of information was possible only through the surgical removal of the suspicious tissue. Dermatoscopy enables the evaluation to be done without any surgical operation – painlessly.

Reasons for the inspection

The most common reason for the patients to undergo the procedure is a routine examination of moles or changes in one of them. A digital record makes it possible to compare the same mole over time.

Hemangioma is a congenital benign tumor of vascular tissue. The heat from the laser destroys the blood vessels without damaging the surrounding tissue.
